KRISTINA MEKDECI

Born with an innate artistic gift recognized and nurtured from an early age, Kristina Mekdeci has cultivated a creative life defined by curiosity, exploration, and expression. She earned her degree in Fine Arts and Marketing from the University of Central Florida before beginning her professional career as a mural artist for Walt Disney and Nickelodeon Studios. Her early work also included roles as a graphic artist and video editor for Florida Today News, WB18-WKCF, and New Horizons.

For over two decades, Kristina devoted herself to arts education within the Department of Education, inspiring students and producing a wide range of instructional art videos. A lifelong surfer since the age of fourteen, she draws continuous inspiration from the rhythm and movement of the ocean — a connection that lives vividly within her celebrated Maui Hali‘a series.

Meaning “Maui Memories,” the Maui Hali‘a collection captures the luminous glow of Hawaiian sunsets, the fluid motion of sea life, and the emotional resonance of time spent in the islands. Through bold compositions and vibrant color palettes, Kristina’s work transports viewers to moments of joy, reflection, and immersion in paradise.

In 2011, Kristina expanded her creative path into the healing arts, becoming a certified Quantum Healing Hypnotherapist. This transformative chapter informs her Quantum Awakening series, an exploration of consciousness, spirituality, historical narratives, and alternative perspectives. These works invite viewers into deeper reflection and expanded awareness.

Balancing depth with levity, Kristina’s Warrior Women of the World series celebrates strength, diversity, and feminine empowerment. Through mixed media and playful storytelling, she honors women across cultures, extending the series into hand-painted illustrated earring holders — each uniquely crafted as both functional art and cultural tribute.
